ISLAMABAD: With the political temperature running high ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s planned lockdown of federal capital, a powerful government team on Thursday met Chief of the Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif to discuss with him the overall situation.
The official team comprised Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the military’s public affairs wing, the meeting held at the Army House continued from 4pm to 5.30pm.
“The delegation briefed COAS on the progress of investigation and recommendations related to planted story of National Security breach of 6 Oct,” said a press release issued by the ISPR.
ISI Director General Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar was also present during the meeting.

This meeting happened quite late at night according to media reports which sounds extra ordinary.
Unfortunately everyone i talk to on streets have the same opinion that nothing will change because everyone in this system is a beneficiary at the expense of 95% poor population. This system will protect its interests.

Holding a meeting with (Security forces who are responsible to secure our Borders) by the government depicts the involvement of the establishment in internal affairs.
They should be brought under Ministry of Interior rather than ministry of Defence.
What a sad state of affairs.

It is time that full accountability boards be constituted and politicians involved be investigated to restore public's confidence. Not only Pakistan but the whole world knows that these current politicians are corrupt and they have transferred millions of dollars overseas.
What is wrong with full investigation of the PanamaGate named like PM politicians? Public demands that.

In what capacity the Punjab CM and Finance Minister met with the Chief? If it was only about security leak then either Interior minister or Defence Minister could update the Army Chief as per rules.
But instead two close relatives of Prime Minister chose to meet the Chief at night is very suspicious.
Unfortunately the people in power earlier granted NRO to politicians against Pakistani interests and now these people are colluding again to suppress the voice of people against corruption.
