HYDERABAD: National Labour Federation (NLF) activists on Tuesday took out a rally against the Workers Welfare Fund, Islamabad, and Sindh Workers Welfare Board for their alleged failure in disbursing special assistance to workers over the past five years.

The assistance is granted to workers on account of scholarship, dowry, etc and to the bereaved family over death of a worker.

Carrying banners and placards, the protesters held a march from the Sindh University old campus to the local press club and raised slogans against the two institutions.

NLF president Rana Mehmood Ali Khan and Hyderabad chief Shakeel Ahmed Shaikh led the march.

They demanded immediate release of the welfare funds and action against all officials involved in the misappropriation or withholding of billions of rupees meant for the poor and needy workers.
