LAHORE: Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafizur Rehman has said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers, who are planning to shut down Islamabad by force, must be dealt with an iron hand – like terrorists.

Talking to the media persons at the Lahore Press Club on Thursday, he said PTI chairman Imran Khan’s threat of shutting government offices by force was an undemocratic way to protest.

He said the PTI had been losing every by-election in the GB.

Mr Rehman said he recently met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak at the National Security Council meeting in Islamabad and asked why he used foul language against the prime minister in PTI’s Raiwind march. “Pervaiz Khattak said that he had to speak harsh words against the prime minister to earn some liberty to work in the KP,” he said.

Calling Imran Khan an immature politician who came from glamour world, he said the PTI chief was asking for moon.Meanwhile, Hafeezur Rehman and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa former governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Thursday.

Mr Rehman thanked Mr Sharif for cooperation by the Punjab government in education, health, technical training and other social sectors and provision of medicines, special quota and scholarships for students of GB in educational institutions and medical colleges of Punjab.

Mr Sharif said Punjab would also provide a CT Scan machine to the GB government.
