This is what happens when people are not selected and hired on merit. PIA should be given under army administration right away. We have great, honourable retired army officers to fix adminstrative gaps.

This is not the first time PIA staff has been invloved in controversy whether it is excess drinking, smuggling phone or carry access cash etc. We were told actions would be taken back then too, but to no avail. These things will keep on happening in future. No respect for the country whatsoever.

And for saying all this PIA CEO has taken due permission from Emirates Airlines .

Most of them are rowdy the plane also, you not kick them out political parties will stand behind them .We are ruining our institutions.

A complete overhaul is needed in PIA. All appointments must be processed after tests at IBA,LUMS,or GIK. The other alternative is to give jobs after thoroughly examined and tests by Army,Navy,or PAF. AND NO APPOINTMENTS IN POLITICIAL AFFILIATIONS please.

PIA employees or any government personnel when outside country are representing Pakistan and their good or bad behavior reflects upon Pakistan and all of us. How else we can improve Pakistans image if we don't act properly? This is sad of PIA employees to misconduct. Full investigation should be required and guilty must be fired. Sorry, but right.

PIA staff misbehaving in Paris? This is unacceptable, not only did they bring bad name to PIA, but also Pakistan. The Captain should have taken action right there. Strict disciplinary action should be taken against any crew member who broke the terms of his or her employment in the national flag carrier. No company would accept them.

@Sab Se Pehle Pakistan Why military men? Retired military personnel have headed PIA before as well. They did nothing to wipe our corruption. Let honest people who have the required credentials head the organization in a professional way. Despite their discipline, military personnel have no professional knowledge or academic background to head corporations.

These characters should be fired swiftly! PIA aircraft carrying drugs is as much an embarrassment, as the crew behaving badly on foreign soil. They represent the nation, its culture, hospitality and care. By behaving in a rowdy manner outside the country, they have tarnished not only the already less-than-sterling image of the carrier and the company, but the entire nation.

Not all, but some members of the crew of PIA are like these. They don't care for the passengers. Their own interest is supreme. Misbehaviour and rudeness is either enriched in their blood or in their grooming or in their mode of appointment which is backed by political connections.

There are already retired army and air force officers working in PIA.

This PIA staff took pictures of 7 dirty seat out of a total of 300 Premier flight seats and made a fuss about the travellers being dirty and uncultured. For all we know those were older people or mothers travelling alone with 2,3 toddlers for 8 hours of flight and 3 hours of check-in and God knows how many hours of road travel to the airport. These unprofessional PIA personnel took pictures of these few seats and antagonised its customers whose ticket price and tax money fuel their undeserved salary. Who does that to their own customers????? PIA is full of incompetent people . throw them out!!!!

Not surprised... The crew misbehave passengers in almost all airlines. I have myself witnessed their 'rowdy' behavior on air when flying from Toronto to Karachi!!!

Immediately fire all these people who bring a bad name to our country. IMMEDIATELY.

I am going to make a complaint to the UK aviation authority against PIA for ignoring health and safety of the passengers on a flight from Manchester to Islamabad on 9th September 2016.

@Ali ... simple case of nepotism. This has gone on for a very long time and unfortunately noting much will be done because it's a family affair. Shame really as the general public are not given jobs at PIA and therefore standard of service is unlikely to improve.

I have been living in the US since 1973 when I flew to Karachi first time with PIA and it was a total delight.Staff was polite and courteous although it was a long flight with four stops.Then came Mr Bhutoo's Govt and political cronies,does not matter ex-military or civillians,the chairmanship of PIA went to "SAFARASH ALI KHAN".As I frequently travelled I observed a great company going down the drain.I witnessed the staff stuffing their bags shamelessly with little things like oranges and tea/coffee bags.I have not flown with PIA in last ten years and have no intention in near future.Nothing is going to happen to this uncooth,uncivilzed crew members because they are mostly SAFARSHEES who have been hired because they had a PARCHEE from either an MNA/MPA /GENERAL or WADERA.Until all kind of corruption is rooted from society Pakistan will remain a basket case.

maybe they wanted premier service lol. The sooner these 777's get refitted with new if the better. On the plus side I have only been earing positive responses with the premier service to London. Many people have been well pleased with the service. I will be using this service next summer.

If our leaders are rowdy and involve in all sorts of bad behaviour, why should the lower levels be any exception?

Uncultured individuals will behave in a vulgar manner. Unfortunately these people are also seen as representing Pakistan and as such the negative affect is even greater.

Normally PIA crew mis behave/ill treat passengers only, now started this practice in foreign shores ! Most of these crew entered PIA thro influence/sifarish/bribe.. Hence PIA mangement cannot do anything..But we should aware that these types of incidents, smugglings by crew gives a bad name to our islamic republic....Feel very sad..

@Zain Hasan That is an outdated understanding of the military on your end. Most senior commanders are extremely well versed in people management given the size of the organizations under their charge. The military is run as a corporation all over the world now. Many senior military leaders go for MBAs and have to run their organizations (Corps, Wings, Fleets) with a tight budget and deal with personnel management issues like any private organization. In the US and the west in general, retired senior leaders from the military are plucked by private/publicly held companies for these very skills.

I stop flying PIA longtime ago with lot of regrets. All due to their behavior. The ground and cabin crews are rude with very very few exceptions.

The crew has all the rights to ask for facilities & probably seen would have been created by Hotel staff of not dealing well. I reckon.

I have experienced flying into Karachi on way to Lahore. I was forced to pay more for luggage that was unloaded from PIA international flight. Ironically staff pulled out a voucher from his pocket for sure it was not legal transaction. He pocketed the money.

Very insulting for Pakistanis to read this in the news.

First of all it is not only PIA but our nation is not cultured , look there driving habit , keeping the thing clean and treating other. So first of all it is not government fault it is only us. PIA have strong Union and firing and get rid of culprits is almost impossible. Just like any effort to privatize PIA is strongly oppose by these people.

Last week I flew into AIA Lahore, I did not see a single national carriers plane on the apron! Tried to book a flight via the much vaunted PIA website which was completely dysfunctional and ended up using Emirates. It's a disgrace, the national carrier has gone to the dogs!

PIA Employee are used to do such things . They even don't care about tarnishing country's image.

I wish the authorities would inquire into the third rate service these PIA employees provide, the late departures, the late arrivals, the very unprofessional people sitting behind the counters. I was in Pakistan in September, I was at the Lahore and Karachi airports, every official and worker rudely stares at every passenger like they have done something wrong, that's not polite, in fact its down right rude.

As per my intelligence report from a witness sitting close by, the crew members were having a bad hangover after a full night of drinks. They were is a bad shape both males and females.In that state they misbehaved with the hotel staff, this has not been the first time, but it was the first time they went out of their limits. Such behavior is a normal scene, and that too in many countries where the PIA crew stay for their rest and change over period.

Govt has no business running an airline, railway company or any factories! It cant even do its job of making laws and providing the basic essentials of life.

Another similarity between Air India and PIA. Recently they caught an employee of AI who was riding on a jump seat from NY to Delhi sleeping the first class galley as the flight was totally full. When the Chairman heard about it he promised that it will not happen again.

Jobs given in PIA are almost entirely on "Safarish"and the members of staff involved will certainly get away. It's a reflection of our prevailing culture, ethics and values.

Who cares, if they don't I certainly don't.

Guys these types of incidents do happens all over the World so please do not make it a National issue. Telex, we have much worse things to deal with. At least the Air lines is investigating.

Staf should be trained how to behave in the hotels. PIA should employ crew from Europe at least they would know how go by the rules. Crew must have bee from political parties. Shameful

@Mian Nazir Dear friend, Firstly you don't know the reason and if someone is not provided with facilities you are paid for, you can raise it with management, escalate to authorities. Not supposed to take law in hand. Its called rowdy behaviour.

@Affi This is partially true. They (crew) are also human beings and working under pressure. Passengers in some routes are less educated, cultured and create a lot of mess and staff naturally lose cool. I have travelled in almost all routes of the world and staff behaviour depends on the behaviour of the travellers.

The reason I think is PIA staff lose their temper in handling mostly rowdy passengers. Pakistani passengers literally turn plane into a big garbage bin by end of journey and put lot of insensible pressure on staff with rude behaviour and un realistic demands.

I have noticed over many years that the government and judiciary come out with statement that a court case has been filed. However, I have never seen any case involving politicians, rich people, government servants, PIA staff etc ever being found guilty and put in jail. This is why people have no respect for the law.

They are one of us, Our society has nurtured such behavior. We have lack of morality all across the country. We need to inculcate modesty, forbearance and courtesy in ourselves. Just being nice to every one does not cost any thing but "EGO".

When most of the staff employed through Political pressures, by taking huge bribes and mostly relatives of political elite or corrupt management then such things happens. The almost same situation is with each and every govt department and corporations, from PIA to steel mills, from wapda to KDA, from KPT to Pemra and etc,etc. No body dare to go for merit, transparency, honesty. The literate people, professionals, scientist, economists always trying to get rid of the situation by planning to go abroad, for immigration or at least to work in middle east. This is very sensitive situation for a developing country like us. The exports are on decline, more and more debts are taken to help lavish imports, resulting declining of industrial production and increasing unemployment. The Political leaders, mostly having stakes abroad are reluctant to improve the situation inside..

Mr. CEO, First of all please suspend all the crew members of this incident then enquire what happened this kind of incident bring bad name to our airline.
