SHANGLA: Awami National provincial president Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has said that PTI chief Imran Khan is eyeing the slot of prime minister and ignoring the interests of people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was addressing a public meeting in Alpuri here on Tuesday. ANP leaders Wajid Ali Khan, Shazia Aurangzeeb, Ayub Ashari and others also attended the public meeting.

On the occasion, several local leaders of PTI including Dr Tahir and workers of other political parties joined ANP.

Says PTI chief eyeing prime minister’s slot

“Imran Khan has announced to close Islamabad on Oct 30 but Islamabad will be already closed as it will be Sunday.

It is a funny announcement,” Mr Hoti told the meeting.

He said that Imran Khan would not succeed in 2018 general elections while he would be overage during 2023 elections. He said that he would appreciate Imran if he made Khyber Pakhtunkhwa corruption-free.

Mr Hoti said that Imran Khan was demanding accountability of others but he was not taking action against his own ministers. The chairman of Ehtesab commission was also sent home by him, he added.

The ANP leader said that India was applying cheap tactics to malign Pakistan and divert attention of world from Kashmir. He said that the issue of held Kashmir should be resolved with consensus instead of fighting with each other as war would cause losses to both the countries.

Mr Hoti said that India was killing innocent people in Kashmir. He said that Indian prime minister wanted to divert attention of world from Kashmir.

Mr Hoti claimed that ANP would form next government in the province.

“We will merge Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said. He added that conspiracies were being hatched to obstruct merger of tribal areas with the province.

“We are the followers of Bacha Khan. We will back Pak Army if war begins on this soil,” said the ANP leader. He said that they established many educational institutions during their government in the province. The NFC award and renaming of the province were achievements of ANP, he added.

Mr Hoti said that three provincial chief secretaries had been changed owing to rift between Bani Gala and chief minister. “It is a clear example of the failure of provincial government,” he added.

He said that they would fight for the rights of Shangla at every platform.
