LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has been moved to impose a ban on Indian products, including films and TV channels, as a measure to check New Delhi’s jingoism.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawmaker Saadia Suhail Rana on Friday submitted a resolution to the assembly secretariat here which called upon the federal government to boycott Indian products as well as banning release of Indian films and broadcast of TV channels in the country.
The step, it argued, was needed to hurting India economically for ending its jingoism.
It urged the government to run a media campaign to apprise the masses of Indian designs as well as raising the Kashmir issue at world forums and framing policies to desist New Delhi from its barbarous acts in Kashmir.
