SUKKUR: A delegation of Govt Girls Islamia Ghat High School teachers called on Sukkur Commissioner Abbas Baloch on Friday and apprised him of the problems they had been facing due to the alleged misbehaviour of their principal, Fehmida Jabeen Abro, against whose attitude an inquiry had already been initiated.

The commissioner gave them a hearing and wondered how the principal was able to hold her office while the inquiry against her was in progress.

He told the delegation that he would get the principal suspended to ensure a fair inquiry. On the basis of the report, further action would be taken, he added.

He said he would personally speak to the education secretary so that a peaceful and congenial academic atmosphere could be restored at the school.

The teachers informed him that, according to them, the principal was known for her ill attitude but had always escaped action due to her political clout.

They also apprised the commissioner of the ordeal of a fellow teacher being victimised by her. They were told that the matter would also be sorted out during the inquiry.
