LAHORE: The EXIM Bank of China has released another installment of Rs3.63 billion for the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project.

According a spokesman for Punjab government, a regular release of funds for the project is a proof of the confidence of Chinese government and financial institutions in Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s leadership, development policies and good governance.

The bank has so far provided $0.44 billion in four installments for the project, of which almost half of construction work had been completed despite all odds, he said.

Meanwhile, he said the Supreme Court has admitted Punjab government’s appeal against the decision of Lahore High Court in Orange Line case for hearing, terming it encouraging with regard to implementation of the project.
