PESHAWAR: Three security personnel were killed in two separate incidents on Sunday in Peshawar and Mohmand agency.

In the first incident, a police official was killed when a police van was attacked. The police vehicle was assigned to Mathra police station.

"Police van of Mathra police station of Peshawar came under attack in Pajagi road area," said a police official.

"The police mobile was on regular patrolling when it was attacked," said Abbas Majid Marwat, SSP Operations Peshawar.

The police official was later identified as Naveed.

A passerby was also injured in the attack, and was later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

In a separate incident, two security officials were killed in Mohmand agency.

A Khasadar force official and a Bomb Disposal Unit official were killed in landmine blast in Safi tehsil of Mohmand agency.

Security forces launched a search operation in the area following the attack.

Mohmand is one of Pakistan’s seven tribal agencies near the Afghan border where the military has been battling Al-Qaeda and Taliban-linked militants for over a decade.
