QUETTA: An Afghan woman died of Congo virus at the Fatima Jinnah Chest and TB Hospital on Sunday.

Fatima Bibi, 45, was brought here from Kandahar four days ago with complaint of bleeding from nose and mouth along with a 20-year-old man, Habibullah. Congo virus was confirmed in their blood test reports received from a Karachi hospital laboratory.

“The condition of Fatima Bibi deteriorated late last night and she died in the morning,” said Dr Abbas Notkani who was supervising medication of the two patients. The condition of two other patients admitted to the same hospital was improving.
