LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved on Friday five development schemes with an estimated cost of Rs5.69 billion.

The schemes were approved in the 6th meeting of the PDWP for the current fiscal year 2016-17.

According to a spokesman for P&DD, the approved development scheme are: Cluster Development Initiative: A Way Forward for Economic Growth at a cost of Rs741.452m; strengthening of Programme Management Unit (PMU) for Punjab Resource Management Programme (PRMP-II) at a cost of Rs678.553m; water resource development through construction of rainwater harvesting structure with a sum of Rs198m; widening/improvement of Sohawa-Chakwal-Talagang-Mianwali Road at a cost of Rs1.848bn; and widening/improvement of road from Hasilpur to Bahawalnagar (length: 80km), dualization of Chishtian city portion reach km No29.35 to 36.35 (length: 7km), Bahawalnagar (revised) (KPRRP Phase-II) at a cost of Rs2.2bn.
