LAHORE: A meeting of Joint Admission Board constituted for the online induction of doctors for postgraduation under Punjab Residency Programme was held at the Punjab Civil Secretariat here on Sunday night.

The meeting presided over by King Edward Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Faisal Masood was also attended by specialised healthcare and medical education secretary and Fatima Jinnah Medical University VC and others, a handout said on Monday.

It was decided in the meeting that scrutiny of online applications received for the induction into PGRs programme would be carried out by the committee headed by the principal of the concerned medical college/teaching hospital.

The candidates would be asked to bring original documents at the time of scrutiny of their certificates.

The application forms would automatically transfer to the concerned teaching hospital’s website/portal according to the options given by the candidates while filling the online forms.

The board directed the scrutiny committees of the hospitals to process the applications within three days. After scrutiny, the lists of eligible candidates would be displayed in the concerned teaching hospital/specialised healthcare institution.

The Young Doctors Association (YDA) is opposing the centralised induction policy.
