LAHORE: The Bank of Punjab (BoP) and Pakistan Post on Friday signed two agreements regarding provision of funds under the Benazir Income Support Programme and payment of cash under home remittances.

BoP President Naeemuddin Khan and Pakistan Post Director General Fakir Syed Shaharyaruddin along with other high-ranking officials of both organisations attended the ceremony where the documents were signed.

The two organisations synergised their strengths and expertise by entering into two agreements -- distribution of funds and disbursement of home remittances. Combined together, their vast networks will enable disbursement of funds conveniently to remote beneficiaries.

Similarly, the public will benefit by receiving remittances under Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI) in far-flung areas. This initiative was aimed at enhancing financial inclusion in line with strategic goals of the State Bank of Pakistan.
