KARAK: Three brothers were killed in a road accident here on the Indus Highway, while the relatives of the deceased protested that delay in timely treatment of the injured at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Takht-i-Nusarti, caused their death.

Police officials said three brothers identified as Sameedullah, Barkatullah and Rizwanullah, residents of Hamidan area of

Takht-i-Nusrati, were going home on a motorcycle on Thursday night when their bike was hit by a speeding oil tanker coming from the opposite direction near Hamidan Chowk.

They were immediately taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital, but the doctors pronounced them as brought dead. However, relatives of the victims alleged that doctors came late to hospital due to which the injured persons died.

Later, the relatives of the deceased and local people gathered outside the hospital and protested against the doctors and lack of facilities in the hospital. The speakers complained there were no facilities to treat the people injured in road accidents. They also complained about shortage of doctors and demanded that vacant posts of medical officers should immediately be filled.
