OKARA: Special desks have been set up at the offices of the assistant commissioners in the district to receive complaints regarding payment of sugarcane price by the sugar mills.
District Coordination Officer Sucrat Aman Rana said on Tuesday the desks had been set up on the directions of the Punjab government and the sugarcane farmers whose outstanding amounts were not being paid by the sugar mills must contact the special desks. He pledged that the farmers’ complaints would be resolved.
FAKE MILK: The Depalpur assistant commissioner seized 1,800 litre fake milk and registered a case against the manufacturer.
The action was taken on a tip-off regarding a fake milk production unit at Nawan Kot Lalianwala village.
The AC set up a picket at Quaid-i-Azam Chowk and intercepted a milk tanker having 1,800 litre of fake milk.
He impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the manufacturer, identified as Naveed, with the Depalpur City police station.
ELECTROCUTED: A man was electrocuted at Chak 34 /2-L.
Muhammad Ishaq, a teacher at the Govt Primary School, was electrocuted when he touched a switchboard at his home during rain.
