MITHI: Mithi police on Saturday located and picked up a woman, Wadia Meghwar, who was allegedly taken away from the house of her “husband”, Suresh Kumar, and forced to marry another man, Chetan Meghwar, a day earlier allegedly under a jirga ruling but did not take her into custody after she disowned Mr Kumar.

Mithi DSP Bilawal Mahar carried out a raid on a house in compliance with an order issued by Sindh Inspector General A.D. Khowaja on Mr Kumar’s complaint to recover the woman. However, the DSP quoted Ms Meghwar as telling him that she never married Mr Kumar, who was a son of her cousin. He also quoted her as saying that her marriage with Chetan Meghwar was performed with her consent.
