ISLAMABAD: A five-member Scotland Yard team visited the FIA headquarters on Monday and discussed with the agency’s officials various aspects of Imran Farooq murder and MQM-related money laundering cases.

According to sources, the Scotland Yard delegation will also meet a joint investigation team in connection with the two cases. During the meeting evidence would be shared.

Monday’s meeting took place days after a former donor of the MQM, Sarfaraz Merchant, had recorded his statement and shared with the FIA evidence about MQM’s alleged involvement in money laundering and the party leadership’s links with Indian intelligence agency RAW.

Meanwhile, British High Commissioner in Pakistan Thomas Drew called on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday. Informed sources told Dawn that matters relating to the Imran Farooq murder and money laundering cases also came under discussion during the meeting.
