QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly approved on Saturday an adjournment motion to debate for two hours the arrest in the province of an officer of RAW, urging the government to take up the issue of India’s involvement in Balochistan with the world powers.

Opposition leader Maulana Abdul Wasey moved the motion stating that security personnel had arrested the officer of the Indian intelligence agency in the Sarawan border area.

“The arrest of the officer of the Indian intelligence agency has proved that India was involved in acts of terrorism in Balochistan,” Maulana Wasey said.

“Our government should take up the issue of arrest of the RAW officer and involvement of India in Balochistan’s situation with the world community,” he demanded.

He said that Baloch and Pakhtun people were not terrorists and the seminaries were not giving training for terrorist activities. Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti endorsed the motion and said it had special importance.

He said the legislators would be given an in-camera briefing about the arrest during the ongoing session.

Speaker Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani said the debate on the motion would be held on March 29.

Speaking on a point of order, deputy opposition leader Zamarak Piralizai said the issue of Kalabagh Dam had unnecessarily been taken up once again at a meeting of the Council of Common Interests. Later, the house was adjourned till March 29.
