PESHAWAR: The provincial sports and tourism department on Monday unveiled the logo and trophy of the mega sports competitions at a ceremony at Jalan Baba Auditorium in Abbottabad.

The sports competitions would start by the third week of February and conclude in the final week of March, with over 5,000 players expected to participate in the games.

Like Hazara division, the unveiling of the logo and trophy ceremonies would also be held across six divisions of the province to formally open the competitions, according to a statement issued here.

Under the plan, the unveiling of logo and trophy would be held in Municipal Committee Hall, Kohat on Feb 4, Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar on Feb 5, Sports Complex Mardan on Feb 7, and Khapal Kur Model School, Swat on Feb 9, respectively.

The games for men include cricket, football, volleyball, hockey, squash, badminton, table-tennis, boxing, athletics, gymnastics, judo-karate and taekwondo. Women players would take part in cricket, netball, hockey, basketball, squash, badminton, table-tennis, athletics, judo, wushu and taekwondo.

Arrangements for successful holding of the games have already been completed, the statement said.
