QUETTA: Adviser to Chief Minister Sardar Raza Muhammad Barrech has said that the provincial government would continue providing financial assistance and support to the distinguished students to promote merit in the education sector.

Speaking at a ceremony held to distribute scholarships among the best students of various institutions under the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund here on Friday, he said the government had taken various measures since it came to power two and a half years ago to revolutionise the education system.

Former Secretary Fina-nce and Director General National Institute of Mana-gement Mahfooz Ali Khan, Secretary Education Abdul Saboor Khan Kakar and others also spoke.

Mr Barrech said that education was an important factor in attaining progress and provincial government was paying full attention to improving the standard of education in the province.

“Balochistan Endowment Fund is the determination of the provincial government towards promoting merit in the education sector,” he said.

Mr Barrech said that a team consisting of honest and prominent people had been constituted to choose best students on merit and award them scholarships.

“They have completed their task in a limited time,” he said, praising the team.
