Modi is a coward and a psychopath, says Delhi CM Kejriwal

NEW DELHI: Delhi's Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal said his office had been raided by federal investigators on Tuesday, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of waging a political vendetta against his administration.

"CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) raids my office," Kejriwal, the leader of the anti-corruption Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said on Twitter.

“When Modi (could not) handle me politically, he resorts to this cowardice... Modi is a coward and a psychopath," the Delhi CM tweeted.

There was no immediate comment from the CBI, but India television cited sources in the bureau as saying the raid was against Kejriwal's principal secretary Rajendra Kumar.

Kejriwal and Modi are bitter rivals and even stood against each other at last year's general election in the Varanasi constituency.

Although Kejriwal was beaten by Modi in the general election, he then oversaw a dramatic landslide victory over Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in polls at the start of the year in the Delhi state assembly.

My brothers in Pakistan who don't know Kejriwal that well. He has been known to create unnecessary fuss when things don't work out well for him. In last one year since coming to power, PM Modi has not even said a word about or on Kejriwal. Kejriwal just wants to remain in limelight by accusing PM, and also blaming all the failures of his govt on the national govt You may or may not like Narendra Modi, but he surely is a nationalist who is trying to bring things back on track. I love Nawaz Sharif too, for the way he has increased Pakistans stature in last 2 years. From being a country completely overshadowed by terrorism, we see a liberal wave in Pakistan these days Surely one year could have been utilized properly by discussing things between 2 nations, but mistakes happened. Time to move forward. Please, my fellow brothers and sisters of South Asia, Start recognizing real politicians who want to do something for their country, and not the ones who just want to make their careers.

Things take time. Similarly, those who say the modi govt hasn't done enough since they came into power; I feel now is the time for modi govt to show results.. They've settled down quite well. They've improved relations with the most important nations India trades with and now is the time they deliver... As a delhiite, I'm neither too happy not too sad. I'd give my chief minister some time as I gave my PM, though I don't support any of them personally!

Delhi chief minister is not yet politically mature. Like last time without majority in assembly he formed government with outside support from congress, which in no time withdrew support and his government fell flat. And in Indian politics, congress has harassed lot many people. Still he is pushing for reporting of Delhi police to Delhi government. What is guarantee that if Delhi police will report to him then he will not harrass parliamentarians. He has to establish his maturity.

@Blue Saffron How can one forget about the campaigning of Delhi and Bihar election. The way Modi was using personal remarks at opponents, it was never felt that a Prime minister was speaking. It's was told by then many of the BJP leaders in Delhi and Bihar. Which was the main reason of the so poorly defeat of the party in both the election.

It is shameful on the part of a Chief Minister to call the Prime Minister a 'psychopath'. It is equally irresponsible of him to start jumping around because the CBI has conducted a raid. The CBI is manned by hand-picked IPS officers from different states of India. They don't behave like some Head Constable who goes and arrests someone on instructions from a local politician. Kejrival's remark shows utter immaturity, nervousness, lack of mental balance and lack of respect for India's democratic institutions.

@TruthSayer . I am not saying that PM Modi is a model politician. He is a self proclaimed right winger. He always attacks the politicians on their performances. In Bihar and Delhi, the PM crossed the line and he was justifiably punished by Indian voters. But i have never seen PM blaming all the problems on other people, just because he can't find answers. Kejriwal has been very aggressively pursuing PM Modi since the day he decided to fight from Varanasi constituency. He is trying to make a name for himself at the expense of current PM of India. I respect Kejriwal for giving this country a mass movement against corruption, but he has not done anything since then besides defaming the PM. For Kejriwal, any problem, be at rape, pollution, global warming, etc, only Narendra Modi is to blame.

Apparently, the accusation of corruption against this person go back to a few years and he is reported to be declining to disclose his computer passwords to the CBI. CBI didn't raid CM office but an official rajendra but as always keajri made blunder, how CBI can dare to raid his officials? 3 of his main cabinet ministers are jailed in false degree charges and in serious crimes. So polic/cbi should not work when it comes to kejariwal?> just because he is self claimed honest person in the world?

Kerjiwal was the first who reversed the so-called Modi charisma after successive victories in other states. He not only defeated BJP in their own so-called citadel (all municipal committees are incidentally have been under BJP control ) but inflicted a humiliating defeat to the BJP Modi himself leading the election campaign along with all the big-gun leaders. The humiliation and shame suffered by BJP metamorphosed into all-out efforts to cripple Kejriwal-led AAP party. Part of Delhi government functions like Home, Land etc. being controlled by the BJP which is power in the center, came in handy to make Mr. Kejriwal's functioning a miserable tug-of-war between BJP and his party. remaining Kejriwal's reaction to this dirty political vendetta is therefore, understandable. If Mr. Modi really cares for his image as a statesman he should leave Kejriwal alone and jettison the burden of vendetta against him.

@Angry Pitbull Even though AAP has been in the govt for short time, the maturity of AAP govt with the controversies such as fake degrees, etc have been a let down. However, Delhi govt has limited powers due to the city state being part of central govt powers as well. So, AAp govt govt gets lower marks due to controversies and Kejriwal's attitude and maturity and irresponsible knee jerk reactions. May be score of 2 on 5 scale. Modi on the other hand gets 3.0 on 5 scale as he has tried and trying his best to get the things moving , but hands are tied due to opposition attitude in Parliament disruptions and policy paralysis due to congress. But Modi also loses marks on mishandling of religious issues run amok by his party members and Modi not taking any action against anybody on that front which is very important in the Indian context.

Quite funny....and his principal secretary's office was raided, and not his own?:):):)

@kashyap Is the CBI raiding corruption everywhere in India?. For instance looting 1000s of crores from the exchequer. Is claining 2.5 Lakhs from a principal secratary the greatest corruption CBI discovered in India? There are millions of provision shops who evades lakhs of Rupees every year. If there is foreign money then it is the duty of IT department to raid and not CBI. This oviously is the ugliest and cheapest misuse of a prime organisation to settle political scores. Only a Psychopath will stoop so low.

Mr kejriwal has every right to protest in democracy but not in this way and not using this type of language, he is not speaking about Mr modi only but representatives 1.2 billions peopIe.If he had any complaints, he should have waited for cbi response and talk to cbi directors and asked for his clarification. It is not that someone has entered Delhi secretariat illegal, cbi is saying that , they had court order. Mr kejriwal if you can proof other wise than you are right but you should have waited before making such comments and let people decide for themselves

That mass movement threw up a man called LALU PRASAD YADAV, who made m0ckery of all norms of propriety and amassed a colossal amount of money for himself, until a court convicted him, in a $130 million scam. And, there was Anna Hazare, an Indian Army driver, who survived attacks by Pakistani jets on a convoy of which he was a part of, and later became a social reformer and anti-corruption crusader much like Jaya Prakash Narain. And, that movement threw up Arvind Kejriwal, who is becoming comical by the day? Ah, then politics is politics, the refuge of many a clown and buffoon!:):):)

Supreme court had ruled last year that CBI does not need permission from states government or the central government in order to investigate any bureaucrat. At the time, kid you've all had welcomed the decision see that this would prevent NDA and UPA from protecting corrupt bureaucrats. Now that a government official in Delhi is being investigated, suddenly he is unhappy and ranting against the PM. In any case, you cannot compare the prime minister of the country with the chief minister of one of its the smallest states.

There is no state agency inIndia for such accountability. Does that mean that corruption at the state level should go unpunished??

Corruption is a condition" in the subcontinent, it is part and parcel of our society and we are up to our nose in this and Modi and no when can get his arm around it.
