MULTAN: An anti-corruption special judge on Wednesday sent Bahauddin Zakariya University former registrar Malik Munir Husain on judicial remand in connection with appointment of 15 admin officers on fake documents.

Mr Husain was produced before judge Mian Muhammad Ilyas by the Anti-Corruption Establishment officials to obtain physical remand but the court remanded him in judicial custody.

One week back, he was arrested by the ACE officials after the special court refused to confirm his bail.

The name of Mr Husain was included in the FIR for failing to scrutinise the candidates and verify their documents.

He was granted pre-arrest bail by the Lahore High Court in BZU Lahore Campus scam till Thursday (today).

Mr Husain had been directed to join investigations initiated by the National Accountibility Bureau (NAB) in connection with the scam but he was arrested by the ACE.
