KARACHI: Baloch nationalist leader Hyrbyair Marri has said that Baloch people are not in favour of seeking help from India to gain independence, a Dawn.com report quoted him as speaking to BBC Urdu in an interview on Saturday.

Mr Marri, who has been living in self-exile in London since 2000, said he was fighting for an “independent Balochistan” from the platform of `Free Balochistan Movement’. He said neither he nor his associates had anything to do with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army.

Mr Marri said he had no intention to seek assistance from India for his movement: “I have never sought help from them, nor will I in the future.”

He rejected reports that he had travelled to India recently to seek that country’s help for Balochistan’s independence.
