KARACHI: Spinner Talha Tahami starred with a five-wicket haul as Nazimabad Gymkhana crushed Korangi Al-Fateh CC by 116 runs to reach the quarter-finals of the KCCA Commissioner Karachi Cup on Tuesday.

After electing to bat first upon winning the toss at the TMC Ground, Nazimabad Gymkhana collected 230-9 in the allotted 50 overs.

But Korangi Al-Fateh CC’s response to the chase fizzled out rather pathetically at 114 in 30 overs with Talha picking up 5-34.

Summarised scores:

NAZIMABAD GYMKHANA 230-9 in 50 overs (Owais Ahmed Rehmani 57, Athar Abid 55, Mohammad Waqas 44; Zain Anwar 3-30, Anees Sheikh 2-46); KORANGI AL-FATEH CC 114 in 30 overs (Saeed Khan 34, Mohammad Siddique 26, Zain Anwar 19, Mohammad Rashid 18; Talha Tahami 5-34, Mohammad Waqas 2-15).—Sports Reporter
