LAHORE: The World Bank is contributing to the economic development of Pakistan, generally, and in Punjab, specifically, through joint development projects.

Punjab Planning and Development head Muhammad Irfan Elahi said this in a meeting with the World Bank country director in Pakistan, Patchamuthu Illangovan, on Tuesday.

He said the bank had always contributed in the development sectors of the province, which proved the record development in infrastructure and economic progress.

Mr Illangovan said the bank would give more funds for the development sectors in Punjab.
