KHAR: An Afghan National Army soldier, who had been under treatment at a Pakistani security post here for last several days after appendix surgery, has been handed over to his colleagues.

Officials said the soldier was taken to a security post in Ghakhi area of Mamond tehsil a few days ago on humanitarian basis after he complained of appendix pain during duty across the border in Kunar province.

They said a ceremony in this connection was held attended by officials of security forces.

On the occasion, the Afghan solider thanked the Pakistani security forces for taking care of him and for their hospitality. He said he would not forget the care, kindness and friendly environment extended to him by the Pakistani soldiers during his stay in Pakistan.

THREE INJURED: Firing in the air at a marriage ceremony in Salarzai tehsil injured three people here on Sunday night, officials said.

They said a woman and two children received injures when some people started firing in the air at a wedding ceremony in Mandal area.

The injured were taken to the agency headquarters hospital in Khar where their condition was stated to be stable.

Local people said the firing panicked the wedding guests who ran to safety.
