KARACHI: Pakistan’s junior players will launch their campaign in the Inter-Region U-19 one-day cricket tournament which opens at different centres of the country on Tuesday.

Drawn in three groups, eighteen regions from across the country are taking part in the league rounds. Rawalpindi will be defending the title.

A total prize money of Rs400,000 will be at stake. Winners will receive Rs200,000 while runners-up will pocket Rs100,000. Best batsman, best bowler, best all-rounder and man-of-the final will be awarded Rs25,000 each.

According to the format, top six teams after the league rounds will advance to the super six stage. Top four after the super-six rounds will qualify for the semi-finals.

The final of the tournament will be played at Municipal Stadium, Gujranwala on Sept 20.

Groups:

Group ‘A’: Karachi Whites, Lahore Blues, Quetta, Hyderabad, Larkana, Bahawalpur.

Group ‘B’: Lahore Whites, Multan, Dera Murad Jamali, Abbottabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot.

Group ‘C’: Karachi Blues, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Fata, Azad Kashmir.
