National Ranking Tennis starts

ISLAMABAD: Qualifying matches in different categories were decided on the opening day of the Fauji Fertilizer Company Open National Ranking Tennis Championships here at the PTF Tennis Complex and the Pakistan Sports Complex.

Ladies singles, boys U-18 and boys U-14 events are being played on the claycourts, while men’s singles and men’s doubles are being held on PSB and PTF hardcourts.

The total prize money of the event is Rs300,000 along with daily allowance for outstation players and travelling allowance for junior players only.

Men’s: Arham Atiq bt Mujahid Zaib 6-0, 6-0; Babar Ali bt Gul Zaman 6-1, 6-0; Asad ullah bt Shahryar Khan 6-4, 6-3; Saqib Umar -- walkover Danish Ahmed; Hamza bin Asif bt Ahmed Murad 6-0, 6-0; Asjad Etizaz bt Musa 6-1, 6-2; Talha bin Asif bt Bakhtiyar Afridi 6-2, 6-0; Umair Qayyum bt Hasnain 6-0, 6-1.

Boys U-18: Ahmed Ibrahim Nazir bt Waleed 6-0, 6-1; Zoraiz bt Hadi Ali Shirazi 6-3, 6-4; Ilham Khan bt Saad Ahmed Jamal 6-1, 6-0; Ali Khalid bt M. Ibrahim Khan 6-2, 6-2; Abdullah Adnan bt Mustafa Malik 6-1, 6-4; Ibrahim Ahmed bt Saad Kamal 7-6, 6-3; Umar Hasan bt Abdullah 6-4, 6-0; Zayn Ali bt Abdul Hanan Khan 6-1, 6-0.
