Hafeez’s scheduled test at Chennai in doldrums

LAHORE: Experienced all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez might not able to appear before biomechanics experts in Chennai in connection with his suspect bowling action, since the Indian High Commissioner in Colombo did not issue him visa.
The batting all-rounder is facing a one-year suspension from bowling as he has been reported for the second time for his suspect bowling action.
Hafeez, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman, was to travel directly from Colombo to Chennai, India on Tuesday as he had to appear before any ICC-accredited lab before July 4 but the veteran batsman could not act accordingly due visa complications.
On the other hand, Pakistan squad has left for Pallekele to play third Test of the three-match series against Sri Lanka but Hafeez will be staying in Colombo, for the batting all-rounder is scheduled to leave for Chennai from the Sri Lankan capital before getting the Indian visa at the same city.
“Hopefully, Hafeez will get visa in a couple of days to appear before a biomechanics lab before the deadline of July 4,” said the PCB spokesperson, adding: “Otherwise, the PCB will seek permission from the ICC to extend the deadline for him as the circumstances are beyond the control of the cricketer to appear before experts.”

this is really stupidity,a sports person is being not allowed to enter just bcoz he is frm pakistan is blatant politics..he dont need to be checked background..its better ind pak just severe diplomatic ties like iran n us or north n south korea..there is no need to have diplomatic embassies...for no reason..when nobody can get visa...u ppl living in 50s era

This story is a cover up. Basically he is dropped from 3rd Test.
Visa rule out for every country is standard. If you are Pakistani citizen and do not have work visa for UAE, you cannot apply for visa, for any country from Dubai. Hafeez to go back to Pakistan and apply to the Indian embassy. If you are a US citizen, visiting Dubai and want to apply visit visa for India, you have to go back to USA and apply to the Indian consulate.

It is common knowledge that you need to get visa in the country where you live. Why make it sound as if Indians are making it difficult?. Perhaps everybody in Pakistan team and management thought that rules don't apply to well known people!!.

is Hafeez so essential for Pakcricket? I think, considering his commitment towards Pakistan team as whole and judging his performance graph, he doesn't deserve anything beyond average mark! Moreover, a suspected person cannot deliver better service to the end. So, it's wise to think for his immediate replacement as soon as possible.

I think this is pretty. We should not involve players like Hafeez in political relationship. Hafeez is a star n India loves him. Political relationship between two countries is the mood swing from the outcome of their secret agencies. Hafeez is a good utility player and has a sharp cricketing brain. Ridiculing him will just demoralise him further when the need of the hour is to infuse confidence in him. What is the alternative if he is dropped from the team. So many other openers have been tried without fruition that I am even forgetting their names. For God's sake stop this Hafeez bashing.

Rationally speaking not giving visa to anyone or a Pakistani in particular depending which side your are on is their right and should not be questioned but at the same time the bio mechanic lab is their to test the cricket players regardless of their nationality. It should be moved to a neutral country where it is available to anyone.

Report should have clarified reasons for visa refusal. All Pakistani readers should understand that a Pakistani citizen can obtain Indian or for that matter any other country's visa only if he/she applies from Pakistan or his/her country of legal residence. All countries require this condition to be met.
Hafeez is not a legal resident of Sri Lanka, therefore he should have applied only from Pakistan. There is no reason to start a hate-India campaign over this issue.

The ICC is a joke. They must arrange alternate plans for Hafeez testing; the BM labs should fly to Srilanka on ICC expense to accommodate testing.

Visa refusal lol they are tergiversating only. I don't think so its a big deal.Hopefully, Hafeez and ICC are following all the rules and regulations. I don't understand why the biomechanics lab is in Chennai ?
