KARACHI: Scores of workers and leaders of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM) on Sunday staged a demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club in protest against the killing of 46 Ismailis in an attack on their bus near Safoora Chowrangi earlier this month.
Holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against religious and sectarian intolerance, the JSM workers and supporters demanded arrest of those responsible for militancy and terrorism.
JSM chief Riaz Ali Chandio blamed the ruling elite who, he said, had held the peace of Sindh hostage for many decades. He demanded to stop continuous arrival of illegal aliens in the city.
“We assure all the people belonging to minority sects and faiths that Sindh is the land of peace and we’ll never leave you alone in the darkest hour,” he said.
