KARACHI: All-rounder Elton Chigumbura has been retained as Zimbabwe skipper in a 15-member squad named for the Pakistan tour that includes for three One-day Internationals and two T20 Internationals in Lahore.

But wicket-keeper/batsman Brendon Taylor will be missing as he has retired from international cricket after the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Wicket-keeper/batsman Regis Chakabva, who was also part of the World Cup squad, has been excluded from national side together with Tafadzwa Kamungozi and Stuart Matsikenyeri. Chakabva’s spot has been taken up by Richmond Mutumbami.

Matsikenyeri had forced his way into the World Cup squad through some impressive performances but has been struggling.

Charles Coventry makes a welcome return to the side which also includes all-rounder Sean Williams, Craig Ervine and seam bowler Chris Mpofu.

Roy Kaia’s impressive domestic form has attracted the attention of selectors after also being included in the 15-man squad.

Unavailable for selection are seamer Tendai Chatara who is out for six months after breaking his leg while playing soccer and Solomon Mire who has commitments in Australia.

Zimbabwe are the first Test-playing nation to tour Pakistan after terrorist attacks on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in March 2009.

Opener Vusi Sibanda and left-arm quick Brian Vitori were also back in contention after missing the World Cup.

Squad: Elton Chigumbura (captain), Hamilton Masakadza, Vusi Sibanda, Chamu Chibhabha, Sikandar Raza Butt, Craig Ervine, Prosper Utseya, Tawanda Mupariwa, Tinashe Panyangara, Charles Coventry, Richmond Mutumbami, Chris Mpofu, Roy Kaia, Sean Williams, Brian Vitori.
