QUETTA: Although no formal announcement has been made about the acceptance of the resignation of Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, the PML-N leadership has offered the post to Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel.

Mr Jamali handed over his resignation to PML-N’s parliamentary leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri a few days back.

However, sources said, Mr Mando­khel, who is holding the portfolio of excise and revenue ministry in the coalition government, has declined the offer. Sources closed to Mr Mandokhel confirmed to Dawn on Monday night that he had been offered the speaker’s post by the PML-N leadership.
