Lahore US consulate guard dies after self-inflicted gunshot

LAHORE: A guard stationed at the United States consulate on Empress Road died in hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Tuesday.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Dr Haider Ashraf told Dawn that the guard identified as Anjum Shah of Khushab was on duty in a cabin outside the consulate when he accidentally shot himself and died on the way to Ganga Ram Hospital.
The DIG said that it could not be ruled out that he might committed suicide over some unknown issue.
He said investigations were underway to probe the incident.

@Youth why does truth always have to hide when it comes to USA,INDIA or another country we are so anti against and why is the truth so plain when it comes to Saudi,UAE,China the country's we love. why cant we just take the news as it is the guy shot himself by mistake or maybe a genuine case of suicide. always finding the good and bad conspiracies wonder why always?

Suggest you do a better job of screening the people you select as guards. Guarding embassy's is suppose to be an important job.

Similar incident in January 2012 at US consulate, Karachi was reported in Dawn. May be suicide or conspiracies ? The truth never came out.
KARACHI, Jan 9: A policeman posted at the US consulate general died when his colleague's rifle went off on Monday, police said.
They said that Assistant Sub-Inspector Anwar Sheikh, 40, was performing his duty at Picket No 7 when Police Constable Muhammad Basheer asked him to keep his official rifle for a while because he needed to go to the toilet.
