Pakistan cricket team reaches Dhaka

DHAKA: Pakistan cricket team, which reached Dhaka on Monday afternoon, was accorded a warm welcome by the Bangladesh government and cricket board officials.

The ODI squad led by Azhar Ali was seen all smiles as they came out of the Shahjalal International Airport Dhaka. The Pakistan contingent later checked into Hotel Pan Pacific Shonargaon.

The Greenshirts are set to start their tour with a one-day practice match against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI schedule on April 15 at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah before going into the three-match ODI series starting from the 17th at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

That will be followed with a T20 game on April 24 at the same venue and then teams will go to Khulna for first Test slated for April 28 to 2nd May and after that they will get back to Dhaka for their 2nd and last Test. They will depart after the series on May 11.

APP adds: Led by newly installed skipper Azhar, the Pakistan ODI squad left here for Dhaka on Monday for the three-match series starting in Bangladesh from April 17.

The squad contains 14 players and nine officials.

Dashing wicket-keeper/batsman Sarfraz Ahmed is the vice-captain of the squad.

Sami Aslam, Sarfraz Ahmed (vice-captain), Mohammad Hafeez (openers); Asad Shafiq, Fawad Alam, Azhar Ali (captain), Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Sohail (middle-order batsmen); Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Shah (spinners); Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali, Ehsan Adil, Junaid Khan (fast bowlers).

Naveed Akram Cheema (manager), Waqar Younis (head coach), Grant Flower (batting coach), Mushtaq Ahmed (spin bowling coach), Grant Luden (fielding coach), Brad Robinson (physio), Shahid Aslam (assistant coach), Col. Mohammad Azam Khan (security officer), Usman Hashmi (analyst).
