Delimitation for Sindh LG polls to start from May 20

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced on Monday schedule for delimitation of constituencies in Sindh for the upcoming local government elections.

According to the schedule, preliminary lists of constituencies will be prepared by the delimitation officers by May 20 which will be published on May 21 and displayed till May 29 inviting objections and representations.

The objections and representations will be filed before the delimitation authority from June 1 to June 19 which will be disposed of from June 22 to July 10.

July 17 has been set as the last date for communication of decisions of delimitation authorities to delimitation officers while the final notification of delimitation will be issued on July 28.


Schedule for delimitation of constituencies in Sindh announced


The ECP has already appointed district election commissioners of 29 districts in Sindh as delimitation officers and 3 to 10 assistant delimitation officers from the district administration.

The ECP is expected to announce the schedule for local government polls days after the completion of delimitation exercise. The polls as per directions of the Supreme Court are scheduled to be held on Sept 20.
