QUETTA: Four suspected militants were killed during a search operation by Frontier Corps personnel in Mangochar area of Kalat district on Saturday night.

According to an FC spokesman, the operation launched over reports that members of a banned group were in the area was under way when the fighting erupted which left four suspects dead.

He said a helicopter was also used in the search operation.

The suspects killed were wanted for their involvement in highway robberies, attacks on security convoys and kidnappings for ransom, he added.

The spokesman said several hideouts of militants had been destroyed and weapons and ammunition, including 500kg of explosives, 150 rockets and 1,500 detonators seized.
