QUETTA: Militants in the Janglat area of Noshki in Balochistan opened fire at a police vehicle on Monday, killing two policemen.

Police sources told DawnNews that gunmen sprayed bullets at the vehicle, killing two policemen on the spot. The assailants managed to escape from the site of attack.

The two victims were identified as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Sultan Muhammad and Constable Ejaz Ahmed.

Their bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Police and Frontier Corps personnel reached the spot and cordoned off the area to launch an investigation into the incident.

Police speculated that the incident appeared to be an act of targeted killing.

Since over a decade, militants in Noshki have been targeting security forces and railway tracks.
