Rejoice, there is hope

THIS needs to be known by all countrymen. Something is working after all, and they do work, I am referring to the police.

On Wednesday 18 Feb at 9:30pm, there suddenly began loud bhangra drumming right outside my home. It turned out a neighbour was having some function. I waited a while and when the noise only got louder, I called police helpline at 15. The time was exactly 10:15 PM.

The man courteously took down details of location. Ten minutes later I got a call from a police officer who was unfortunately from the wrong police station. He told me to take it easy as he was arranging for a patrol from our police station. At 10:35 PM, the noise ended of a sudden. Even the generator was switched off.

It took the police all of twenty minutes to bring an illegal activity to an end.

We are quick to censure inefficiency. Let me celebrate the effectiveness of Lahore police. I say well done police helpline, the SHO of Green Town. And well done Mushtaq Sukhera and his merry band.
