It is time the common people on both sides of the border start voicing their concern that the government 'they' chose and army that's to protect "them" give PEACE a CHANCE Cause for the govt and army its very easy to spend next 65 years in animosity and hatred. But for common people there is so much to benefit from mutual love and respect.

By the way today is the anniversary of the Gujrat riots when Muslims were hunted and murdered under the watchful eye of Narinda Modi. This kind of murder-fest has never happened in Pakistan. We are very different. Thank God for MA Jinnah and Pakistan.

I sincerely wish that some day in future we, including Bangladesh, are reunited as one again. All right thinking people in these three countries have now understood that everyone is suffering on some count or the other after 1947 partition. When two Germany could unite for greater prosperity, why not we ?

The best use of cricket to unite the countries to make one combined team of Indian and Pakistani players. Pak players like Misbah, Junaid, Irfan Saeed and Afirdi can be selected and rest from India. Teams from Australia, SA, etc, should be invited and matches can be played in India & Pakistan. Crowd will cheer for both Pakistani and Indian players. This will bring us closer.

@Pragmatist I think we have to live in this situation till 2047, at that point memories of past would be completely erased and like Germanys Indo Pak can be united to form One greater India or we may call it Indo Pak Republic

@SRIDHAR RAGHUNATHA RAO There can be no union-if that happens a HUGE MUSLIM population with interests only in fostering Islam and nothing else will ruin India. In hindsight,Partition was the best thing that happened to India..the bulk of sub continent's Muslims are in the two enclaves of Pakistan and Bangladesh where there is more talk about religion than about modern nation building!

I think bring united dies not mean you join and share same home. Bring united means one should not conspire against each other and protect each other interests and rights and don't do injustice. I think ordinary people of both countries are not having any rift but political leaders and agencies use rivalry tactics for their agendas.

Streamline Visa facility and make it easier for travelling between the two countries. I am now an Australian citizen but to travel to India they require Pakistani passport and stamp visa in Pakistani passport. I do not have a Pakistani passport for last 25 years. How ridiculous is that.

@Mohammed People kill people everywhere, for one reason or another. If Taliban or other group kill people in Pakistan (Muslims most of the time), that i also loss of life. Killed by people of same faith or another faith makes difference to dead?? I don't think so. It happened there earlier, but never after that, in Pakistan it is ongoing process.

Any effort that brings us closer should be appreciated. We should no longer leave it up to the politicians and decision makers to have friendly relations.We have given them more than enough time. Let us take it upon ourselves to elevate our relations to such a high level that these boundaries don't matter anymore. We can travel and trade freely. Enough of the hatred already. Politicians in India follow what the people say. Look at Delhi elections! The bigger question is: do Pakistani people have any say over political matters in Pakistan or is everything decided by Army and ISI?

@Mohammed Really you are very different. But only a small portion of Muslims endorsed the idea of Mr.Jinnah.Secular India is the home for world's 2nd.. largest no. of Muslims. We are very proud that we got many Muslim presidents,writers, scientists singers,etc.i.e. in every sphere of life. Our first and last identity is that we are Indian. It such a pleasure probably hard to realize by you.

@Mohammed - Pl. look with a different glass. We have more Muslim population than Pakistan. Our legal process are far more better than that of Pak. Modiji had cleared the cases legally and he is accepted as PM by majority Indians - including Indian Muslims. Now, we concentrate how we can bring ourselves near to each other .

I understand there are differences between us. Its true. BUT at the same time even its true that once in history we were united. Here in India we have grown up hearing our country as the golden bird (sone ki chidiya) in the past (ofcourse must be of times wen we were united) Can one imagine if we unite as friends once again what BIG united world powers we can be!!! Al though I have seen always negative and harsh bashing from our neighbors ,, I Pakistani Nationalist, but If any thing could be possible to solve the problems of people of South Asia by making any joint Union this would be welcome till how long we both countries will remain like this. In the absence of people to people contact between Pakistan and India, such apps can only help create and foster understanding. The comment sections in the newspapers of the two countries also play a similar role. To begin with if people on both sides of the border are polite and respectful of each other, that is a good first step.

The national narratives of both the countries are irreconcilable. One is exclusive and the other inclusive. What has happened in the past can not be undone. The best option left is for the countries to come together under SAARC.
