LAHORE: The Dawn Media Group on Tuesday began its two-day Dawn Education Expo 2015 at Faletti’s Hotel with showcasing world’s top universities explaining their programmes, admission criteria and other relevant information to young students.

Hundreds of students from different local institutions, including a delegation of students from the Government College University, Lahore, visited the Dawn Education Expo.

The representatives of over 80 top universities from the USA, the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, Turkey, UAE and Pakistan explained students about their programmes.

As students were seen enthusiastically collecting information about future plans, a student, Amir Anwar, said the Dawn had provided a great opportunity for students to visit a platform and expose themselves to a world of quality education and modern programmes.

He said since it was never easy to find information about the programmes and admission criteria of a foreign university on internet, the one-on-one meeting with top universities’ representatives had quenched the thirst of seeking maximum information.

Irtiza Hasan, the first year student of Government College University, said the visit to the Expo was surely a turning point in his life as it helped him in setting a new roadmap for his future. “ University representatives briefed us about the admission procedures, scholarships, courses and even about the scope of degree worldwide,” he said.

FSc pre-medical student Hamza Shafique said the pre-requisites for admission to various UK universities were different and the information he received at the education expo would help him in preparing for the university of his choice.

Representatives of different universities told Dawn the students wanted information about modern programmes being offered by universities, besides admission procedures, fee structures, scholarships and visas.

The education expo will continue on Wednesday (today).
