ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday said that security agencies are close to unveiling the mastermind of the Shikarpur bombing incident.

Addressing a session of the National Assembly, the minister revealed details of investigation into the Shikarpur bombing at an imambargah and the Peshawar school carnage.

Nisar said that besides the finger of the suicide bomber, other body parts, including the head and the foot, were also recovered from the site of attack in Shikarpur.

He said the government could not arrive at any further clue helpful in finding the terrorists as they were beyond recognition.

Khan also dispelled the notion that the federal government was not standing by the aggrieved families of the Shikarpur incident.

“The federal government is aware of its responsibilities and is working in close liaison with the Sindh government in this regard,” the minister said.

Nisar said that it was the first time that Pakistani security agencies are working in close collaboration with Afghan authorities to capture militants behind the Peshawar school carnage.

“A number of raids have been carried out across the border with the help of Afghan officials to hunt down terrorists and I want to assure families of the victims that we cannot forget and we will never forget,” the minister said.
