ISLAMABAD: The Commander of US forces in Afghanistan, Gen John Campbell, on Monday called on Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif for discussions on efforts for stabilising Afghanistan and border coordination.

“General John F. Campbell, Commander Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces, Afghanistan, called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif today at General Headquarters,” an ISPR statement said.

“During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and regional security with particular emphasis on coordination along Pak-Afghan border were discussed,” it said.

The meeting took place amid improving Pak-Afghan military-to-military contacts. Commanders of both countries exchanged visits.

A high-level Afghan military delegation is currently visiting Pakistan for strengthening military cooperation between the two countries.
