RAHIM YAR KHAN: Cotton stocks worth millions of rupees were gutted when a fire erupted in a factory on Commerce College Road here on Tuesday.

The fire, allegedly caused by a burning cigarette butt, engulfed the raw cotton stocks and bales at the Ravi Cotton Factory.

Fire fighters of Rescue 1122 tried to extinguish the blaze but it damaged the stocks worth Rs6 million, according to owner, who said stocks worth Rs16 million were saved, however. The fire was extinguished after an hour-long struggle.
