LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party on Sunday hanged the effigies of terrorists in Green Town.
A large number of PPP workers gathered at Bagharian Chowk and expressed solidarity with the victims of Peshawar tragedy and expressed their party’s resolve to fight terrorism.
The PPP claimed that the police stopped its workers from reaching the public meeting venue and arrested one of its activists, Dr Zarar.
Speaking on the occasion, PPP leader Faisal Mir said the government should allow civilian recruitment to fight terrorists along with the army.
He said the PPP had time and again proved that it was the only party in the country which was ready to take on terrorism without any fear.
Mr Mir said the PML-N and PTI should also hang the effigies of terrorists in the streets in order to stand by the armed forces in fight against terrorism. These parties should also openly speak against the atrocities committed by the Taliban.
Barrister Amer Hasan, Malik Sohail, Yousuf Awan, Khurram Farooq, Ashraf Bhatti, Naseer Ahmed and Shahzadi Tauseef also spoke.
