PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party has asked its workers to start preparation for the coming local government (LG) elections in order to get maximum seats in all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Party’s provincial president Khanzada Khan said in a statement here on Saturday that his party would fully participate in the coming elections as PPP was one of the mainstream political parties and would emerge successful.

“During my recent visit to parts of the province, especially Mardan, I observed that the workers are fully charged to run the election campaign and win seats with overwhelming majority,” he said.

Mr Khan said that leaders of different political parties had started joining PPP because people had got disappointed due to the failure of the ruling clique to materialise election commitments. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf was the leading party in the province, but it badly failed to come up to the expectations of masses and thus its own workers had started saying goodbye to it in different districts.

The PPP provincial president said that there was no grouping in the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and all the workers were united under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to serve the country and its people and strengthen the democratic institutions.

Khanzada Khan denies grouping in the party

Mr Khan claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would become second Larkana to focus on solution of the long-awaited problems. He said that PPP always struggled for the rights of deprived people and supported the downtrodden despite many problems.

He said that the sacrifices rendered by late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Benazir Bhutto was the live example of their love for the nation and country. He said that some elements were hatching conspiracies against the party’s interests and trying to create rifts, but they would not succeed. He said that workers were aware of the activities of those creating differences in the party.

The PPP leader asked the office-bearers in different districts to reactivate the disgruntled activists so that they could play their active role in strengthening the party in respective localities and ensure success of their candidates. He said that PPP was a party of masses and thus it always respected the low income group. He said that it was on record that only PPP gave jobs to people and raised voice for their rights.
