Two KMC officials killed

KARACHI: Two officials of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation were gunned down in a suspected targeted attack on Sunday night.

The officials were in a vehicle when they were attacked by men on motorcycles near the Federal Urdu University on the main University Road in Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

The deceased were identified as Sohail Yusuf Bhatti, 47, and Yusuf Talat Khan, 56. Both held senior positions in the KMC’s land department which looks after the Lyari Development Authority.

KMC spokesperson Bashir Ahmed Sadozai said Sohail Bhatti worked as deputy director, land, and Yusuf Khan as assistant director.

Earlier in the day, two cops, one doctor and a bakery owner were killed in the city.
