KARACHI: Pakistan women’s team downed Denmark in the third place play-off 38-28 at the Kabaddi World Cup in Barnala, India on Thursday.
According to the information received here, Pakistan captain Madiha Lateef led from the front and won several points through her powerful raids. Nida, Sehrish and Saira Shah also supported their skipper in their last match of the event.
Later talking to media, Madiha said that overall Pakistan women team produced good performance in the mega event.
“Our team played all of their league matches on successive days, which negatively affected our performance,” Madiha complained.
“The event management should have given our team sufficient break between our matches. Had this been done, the standing of our team could have been different in the event,” she added.
Madiha said that Pakistan women could have won the third match against New Zealand but the team was exhausted after three consecutive matches and consequently they could not top their pool.
