Commission gets bags of NA-122

LAHORE: A local commission assigned to inspect polling bags of NA-122 on Tuesday received 416 polling bags of the constituency from the district treasury officer.

The commission comprising retired sessions judge Ghulam Hussain Awan would resume its formal proceedings on Wednesday (today) at Nadir Hall of the DCO office. The commission was supposed to start its working on Monday but it could not do so owing to incomplete security and administrative arrangements.

The treasury officer handed over the polling bags to the commission in the presence of NA-122 Returning Officer Shahida Saeed and the assistant returning officer.

An election tribunal had on Dec 8 ordered opening of the polling bags while allowing an application of PTI chief Imran Khan.
