As Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) completes its glorious 1000-week run today, the film's vivacious leading lady, Kajol, expresses her excitement with the same fervour she had 19 years ago when the film released in 1995.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor talks about the film: “It’s more about my memories attached to the movie rather than specific scenes. So when I’m watching the movie, it’s like watching flashback after flashback — remembering what actually happened around that time. We had an absolute blast shooting it."

Although the actor thinks a sequel is "a great idea", she is not in favour of a remake of the film: "I think you can never remake a phenomenon."

Despite the fact that Shah Rukh Khan wasn't 'King Khan' back then, Kajol said working with him wasn't any different.

“At that time, we were not so concerned about who is big and who is small. In our heads, it was never like that, and it still isn’t. We were all confident people, and none of us were intimidated by anybody. We didn’t think we were less than anybody.”

Responding to whether her husband, Ajay Devgan, ever gets jealous of her and Shah Rukh’s chemistry in DDLJ, the actor said: "Nothing like that. He’s a very secure man."

DDLJ, which tells the tale of two expatriate Indians living in Britain who meet and fall in love on a trip to mainland Europe, celebrates its 1000th week at the 1,100-seat Maratha Mandir in Mumbai on Friday (today), by far the longest theatrical run for an Indian movie.

The movie's director Aditya Chopra has also released a new trailer, asking people to “Come fall in love all over again”.
