PML-Q on Kalabagh

A FRESH voice of the PML-Q has supported the Kalabagh dam, giving cogent reasons for generating cheap power at Rs.2.5 per unit and providing ample water for irrigating all the provinces, including such areas as Cholistan and Thar, thus excluding hazards of famine and loss of life.

It is surprising that whereas the PML-N chooses to stay silent on such a vital issue of the Kalabagh, the PML-Q vociferously defends it. As such, it appears that the PML-N has sacrificed the national interest.

It is clear as daylight that the nation cannot subsist without the Kalabagh dam given its energy and water potential so necessary for boosting agriculture and industry. Unfortunately, the PML-N does not appreciate the ground realities and is concerned only with retraining its rule over hapless masses of Pakistan.

The hunger in Thar and Cholistan must open the eyes of all politicians to the dire need of the Kalabagh dam unless they are colour-blind. There is no will on the part of Sharif brothers to support the kalabagh dam due to their narrow look .
